Bay Area Heat Mapping Campaign
Mapping urban heat to build a cooler, more equitable Bay Area
We have concluded the 2024–2025 Bay Area Heat Mapping Campaign. Stay tuned for an Extreme Heat Summit, coming August 2025.
As part of NOAA's Urban Heat Island Mapping initiative, we partnered with cities, community organizations, and volunteers to map temperature distribution across Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, and Menlo Park — producing data that guides policy to protect Bay Area communities from extreme heat.
